Lorraine Kelly has admitted that she feels anxious about her health after her former ITV colleague Fiona Phillips was diagnosed with dementia. The Scots TV presenter said that it's a constant worry now since pal Fiona revealed that she was living with the illness after suffering brain fog and anxiety.
After Fiona was diagnosed, it sparked concern in Lorraine which she says is only getting worse as she gets older. Speaking to WOMAN Magazine, the star said: "As I get older, the only thing that's a big worry is health and losing myself.
"Obviously, my lovely friend Fiona has been diagnosed with dementia. She's OK, she's still here, still her. She's so bloody strong and has dealt with it with dignity and humour.
"It brings it home when it's someone you know. I do as much as I can. I do my Wordle and my crosswords every day, and try and eat well, but it's a horrible and cruel disease and it can affect anyone."
The 64-year-old also said that she gets mammograms at every given opportunity to get herself checked for any abnormal changes in he breasts. She added: "I am fastidious about mammograms. You’ve got to take responsibility for yourself and find your normal, because all boobies are different.
"My husband regularly checks mine. Selfless, he is Selfless! But that’s great. He probably knows them better than I do. It’s the same with women and men [checking for] testicular cancer."
Fiona is currently taking part in a clinical trial at University College Hospital London, searching for a cure, and said that her husband Martin, 64, was a big support for her.
