Kate Middleton is ‘consistently confident’ and has ‘stepped up’ since passing of Queen

Kate Middleton has “stepped up” since the death of the Queen and showed ‘consistent confidence’ on a recent Royal engagement, a body language expert said. The Princess of Wales, 41, was “confident, open and honest” on her solo trip to a Royal Navy air base in Somerset this week and left all who met her in ‘absolute awe’, Darren Stanton added. Darren said it made no difference that she went on the visit alone - without Prince William - as she seemed to be “enjoying every moment” - which was a sign of her evolving independence.

There's somebody at the door! Grotbags actress Carol Lee Scott - from Emu to tragic death

It was the kids' TV catchphrase copied by millions of children in the 1980s, as they excitedly chanted it whenever someone knocked as they came to visit. "There's somebody at the door! There's somebody at the door!" And with it came a larger-than-life green witch, a strange pink windmill full of children and the infamous TV puppet-and-master duo, Rod Hull and Emu.The TV show the catchphrase came from is ITV's Emu's World, while the strange green witch in the cape who we loved to hate is Grotbags – played by actress by Carol Lee Scott. She lived in a castle, Gloomy Fortress, and haplessly tried to use her powers to control the children, also keeping a servant called Croc in line by hitting him with her bazazzer, an umbrella-shaped stick with a pointing finger on the end.

Taylor Swift adds UK and EU ‘Eras’ tour dates with Paramore – ruling her out of Glastonbury

Taylor Swift has announced the addition of 14 new ‘Eras’ tour dates in the UK and EU –  with Paramore serving as support – with the shows now seemingly ruling her out as a potential Glastonbury headliner. The new dates include additional shows in Paris, Sweden, Portugal, Lyon, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Milan, Gelsenkirchen, Poland and Austria. The three dates at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium fall on the same weekend as Glastonbury 2024, ruling out the possibility of the pop icon headlining the iconic music festival in Somerset.Swift was recently linked to being one of the two female headliners booked for next year’s edition of the festival due to the previous gaps in her touring schedule that coincided with the 2024 festival dates.Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour. And I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore!! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? Baby owls rescued from under Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage named after Guns N’ Roses

Glastonbury have been named after members of Guns N’ Roses. The first of the two owl chicks was found by a festival-goer under the left steps of the Pyramid Stage, during the rock group’s two-and-a-half hour headline set on Saturday (June 24).The punter gave the rescued owl the name Axl — after the band’s frontman Axl Rose — and it was taken to the RSPCA West Hatch Wildlife near Taunton, before being transferred to a Somerset-based wildlife charity, Secret World Wildlife Rescue.Within just one day of Axl being located beneath the main stage, a second chick was found in the same space and also taken to the rescue centre.Thought to be the sibling of Axl, the chick was given the name Slash — in homage to the moniker of the Guns N’ Roses guitarist Saul Hudson. The team at Secret World Wildlife Rescue (SWWR) in Somerset said the recovery was “the most unusual disturbance case” this year.A post shared by Slash (@slash)Fundraising Manager at Secret World Wildlife Rescue, David Plant, also issued a statement about the discovery of the two owls, and said that they “must have been terrified” after nearly two full days of loud music (via The Independent).“When Guns N’ Roses were playing ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, I’m sure they didn’t realise how close they actually were to wildlife,” he began.

Debbie Harry reflects on NYC, punk — and playing Glastonbury at 77

next week’s Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England, with her longtime band, Blondie, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. “We’re still playing music and being creative and that’s the essence of it all, isn’t it?” she told The Times of London Friday. Harry, who has been fronting Blondie since 1974 save for a 15-year hiatus between 1982 and 1997, will play Glastonbury for the third time on Sunday, between Yusuf/Cat Stevens and Lil Nas X. The band performed in 1999 and 2014, and the fashion icon fondly remembers what she wore for her inaugural show. “The first time I was wearing an Elsa Schiaparelli hat, so I think I was very happy about that. It was red flowers on a straw bucket, and I thought I was really chic.” Harry also recalled a very punk-rock moment on one of the Glastonbury trips — when her bandmates broke into Stonehenge. “The boys were all very excited, and they climbed over the fence, ran over and touched the stone,” the “Heart of Glass” singer said.
