Max performed a Billboard Live At-Home concert on Friday (May 1) to raise money for Montefiore Medical Center, a hospital in The Bronx, NY currently fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic.The 27-year old singer sat with his guitarist in his L.A.-based studio to give fans a taste of some of his favorite songs.

This healthcare hero just got an unforgettable musical surprise: a personal serenade from Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl.  On Monday night, Jimmy Kimmelreturned to the home edition of his late-night show, during which he honored emergency and trauma nurse TJ Riley, who has been working at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx amid the coronavirus pandemic. Riley was also the first to contract the virus of his co-workers, 60 percent of whom have also battled the disease.

Oscar “Sonny” Cohen, former owner and president of Associated Booking Corp., died on April 10, 2020. The 92-year-old passed away in Boca Raton, Florida following a brief illness. During a colorful career that spanned more than 65 years from the 1940s through 2010, Cohen represented some of the biggest names in jazz, R&B, rock ‘n’ roll and reggae from Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday to Rod Stewart, Bob Marley and Mary J. Blige.

The state of New York has offered up a $3.5 million grant in order to help with the construction of a Hip Hop museum in the Bronx, according to the New York Post. The museum would be the first like it in the world. With a total price tag of $80 million, the Universal Hip Hop Museum is set to open in 2023 in the genre, culture and movement's birthplace, the South Bronx.

This week, New York state awarded a $3.75 million grant to The Universal Hip Hop Museum, according to a CNN report. Temporarily located at the Bronx Terminal Market, the museum is an 8-year-old endeavor to document the history of hip-hop culture. With total costs running up to $80 million, the institution plans to open doors in Bronx Point in 2023.
