BBC announces Glastonbury 2023 coverage plans

BBC have shared details of their coverage for next month’s Glastonbury Festival.Glastonbury 2023 – which will be held from June 21-25 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset and headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John.Yesterday (May 30), the full line-up and stage times were shared, with new names added including Queens Of The Stone Age and Rick Astley.Now, details of the full TV and radio schedule for Glastonbury’s BBC coverage has been shared.BBC Music’s presenters for the festival include Lauren Laverne, Jo Wiley, Clara Amfo and Jack Saunders, with pre-festival programming including an updated version of the Glastonbury: 50 Years & Counting documentary, first shared for last year’s event.From there, over 40 hours of TV coverage will be broadcast alongside 85 hours of live radio broadcast from the festival.New for 2023 includes British Sign Language on Pyramid Stage performances, a ‘Glastonbury’s Greatest Hits’ show streaming on iPlayer from June 19-25 and running down the best performances from past years, a new We Love Glastonbury documentary and more.Emily Eavis said: “We’ve worked in partnership with the BBC since 1997, and they’ve become an incredibly valuable part of what we do at Glastonbury. I think we’ve created something really special together and we’re delighted that they’re continuing to evolve their coverage with additions such as streaming Pyramid Stage performances live in British Sign Language.

Brooke Bower Will Take Reins of ABC News’ ‘This Week’ As Executive Producer

Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Brooke Bower, a veteran of CNN and MSNBC, will take the reins of ABC News’ “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” as its new executive producer, filling in a gap left by the tragic demise of the show’s previous leader. Brower, who had been managing editor of CNN Politics, will report to Kim Godwin, president of ABC News. Kendall Heath, who had been working as the show’s interim executive producer, was named executive producer of politics, reporting into Stacia Deshishku, ABC News’ executive editor, and will work with political director Rick Klein during the election season. “As the 2024 election season gets underway, I look forward to Brooke and Kendall working closely with the talented teams at ‘This Week’ and all our great reporters and producers in the Washington bureau, led by Jonathan Greenberger, and the political unit under the leadership of Rick Klein and Averi Harper, to bring straightforward political journalism to our viewers at a time when it’s needed more than ever,” Godwin said in a memo sent to staff Wednesday.

, with Robert De Niro, comedian Sebastian Maniscalco is reuniting with the two-time Oscar winner in the loosely biographical comedy,. While speaking to ET's Rachel Smith, Sebastian opened up about teaming up with the screen legend as well as working on his upcoming Max series, . In the movie, which opens in theaters on Friday, May 26, De Niro portrays a version of Maniscalco's immigrant, hairdresser father, Salvo Maniscalco, who finds himself amid a culture clash with the parents of his son's fiancée (Leslie Bibb) after their two families get together for a summer weekend. «It's a classic situation between the in-laws,» De Niro said of the movie, describing Bibb's onscreen family as «very waspy and just the opposite of Salvo.» And as a result, «there's a lot of humor in it,» he said, adding that «anybody can relate to it.»  But when it came to telling this heightened version of his father, Maniscalco revealed, «My father said, 'You're not going to make this movie unless you get De Niro to play me,'» before joking that Salvo got to approve whoever ended up in the titular role.

Ryuichi Sakamoto have been gathered on a new Milan Records compilation, ‘Travesía’.The album — which is available to listen to now — has been curated by Oscar-winning Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu, with the album’s title translating to ‘journey’ in Spanish.Sakamoto collaborated with the acclaimed director alongside alva noto for the soundtrack of Iñárritu’s 2015 film The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio.Originally intended to be a surprise project celebrating the Japanese composer’s 70th birthday, the new compilation is a result of nearly two years of planning and six months of Iñárritu listening to more than 1000 pieces.“When Jean Christophe Chamboredon from Milan Records, and Norika Sora, Ryuichi’s manager, invited me to this project, my first instinct was to resist,” Iñárritu said in a press statement. “Sakamoto’s musical universe is so vast that the responsibility to honor him by choosing only 20 stars from his complex galaxy would be practically impossible.
