Bdrmm have released their sweeping new single ‘Standard Tuning’ – check it out below.The Hull-based shoegaze group’s new track follows the release of second album ‘I Don’t Know’ – which came out in June 2023 and earned four stars from NME – and autumn single ‘Mud’, released via Mogwai’s Rock Action Label.The new track will form part of a 10 inch release which will also feature a remix of album opener ‘Alps’, out April 19.Listen to ‘Standard Tuning’ below.The new single was recorded during their studio sessions for ‘I Don’t Know’, an “important track in the ever-changing development of our creative process, as it was a collaboration between myself and Jordan”, as frontman Ryan Smith explained in a press statement.“I created the loop using techniques such as stretching samples and chopping them, and Jordan added synthetics and drum processing and structured it into the track you hear now. Lyrically, the words followed the loss of an old childhood friend.“Despite the fact of not speaking to somebody for years, you still feel an atmosphere of upset and loss.

Since first shooting to fame in the 1990s, singer and songwriter Gabrielle has been delighting audiences around the world with her stellar vocals and distinctive stage presence, with fans once again being treated to her phenomenal voice during this week’s Graham Norton Show. The Zutons have released their funky new single ‘Creeping On The Dancefloor’.‘Creeping On The Dancefloor’ is the Liverpool band’s first new music in 16 years, and was recorded all the way back during the pandemic. The single is taken from their upcoming album ‘The Big Decider’, produced by the legendary Nile Rodgers and Ian Broudie.

Yungblud has released ‘When We Die (Can We Still Get High?)’, his first single of 2024, featuring Lil Yachty.The track sees the English musician – born Dominic Harrison – confronting metaphysical questions, opening with the lyrics: “Does Heaven have a dealer? Do they sell the love for cheaper than in Hollywood? / As hell is gettin’ colder, I don’t plan on gettin’ older in this neighbourhood“, before culminating in him belting the song’s title over an immense soundscape: “When we die, tell me, can we still get high?”Later in the track, Lil Yachty joins in with mind-bending bars: “If you fall far too deep / Lose yourself in your new life / Head over heels for your new eyes“, the track’s trippy production complementing the rapper-producer’s current psych-rock phase, heralded by his 2023 album ‘Let’s Start Here’.In a press release, Yungblud spoke about intending to collaborate with Lil Yachty since 2019. “When we die (can we still get high?)’ was one of the first songs I wrote when I got to New Orleans to make new music,” he wrote.

Mumford & Sons have opened up about their collaboration with Pharrell on new single ‘Good People’ – their first new music in five years.The British band returned with the single yesterday (January 16), which was produced by Pharrell and features his backing vocals.The artists also brought in the vocals of a six-piece vocal choir from the USA and Canada, hailing from Native American Tribes within the Northern Great Plains.In a new interview with The Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music, Marcus Mumford recalled meeting Pharrell almost 10 years ago on the festival circuit, sharing that they “instantly got on”.“There was a mutual kind of respect and admiration straight away,” he added.”And we’ve always talked about making music together. We’ve always talked about just getting in the studio and seeing what happened.”The band were performing at Pharrell’s festival Something in the Water in Virginia Beach last year when they committed to getting in the studio.“And I said to him, man, we’ve got to do that thing we’ve always talked about doing and get in the studio together,” Mumford said.
