Charli XCX‘s new album is officially out!

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorNearly five years after the release of their last album, “Everything Now,” the sixth studio album by Arcade Fire, has been confirmed for a May 6, 2022 release via Columbia Records.Titled ‘We,’ the album’s arrival is preceded by first single “The Lightning I, II,” and as a video directed by Emily Kai Bock, which can be seen below.Produced by longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich with the group’s Win Butler and & Régine Chassagne, and recorded in multiple locales including New Orleans, El Paso and Mount Desert Island, the album “paradoxically distills ‘the longest we’ve ever spent writing, uninterrupted, probably ever’ (per the band’s Win Butler) into a concise 40 minute epic – one as much about the forces that threaten to pull us away from the people we love, as it is inspired by the urgent need to overcome them,” the announcement reads.

Arcade Fire have confirmed that they will make their comeback with new single ‘The Lightning I, II’ this week (March 17).The Canadian band last released an album in 2017 with ‘Everything Now’, and have since shared 45-minute track ‘Memories Of The Age of Anxiety’ for a meditation app in 2021, and released a live version of political cut ‘Generation A’ in late 2020.Over the past few weeks, the band have been teasing their return. Earlier this month, a brief snippet of new music appeared on the contact page of the group’s official website.

Dave’s Starlight has debuted straight at the top of the Official Singles Chart. It marks the acclaimed rapper’s second UK Number 1 single, following 2018’s Funky Friday featuring Fredo. 

Starlight by Dave becomes the British rapper’s first Number 1 on the Official Irish Singles Chart.

Aitch has shared a brand new single – watch the video for ‘Baby’ below.The track, produced by Fred Again…, is the Manchester rapper’s first solo single of the year and the latest preview of his forthcoming debut album.‘Baby’ samples Ashanti‘s ‘Rock Wit U (Aww Baby)’, with Aitch adding a contemporary rap feel to the R&B classic.The accompanying video, directed by Zain Alexander Shammas, sees the rapper in Malibu, going through the highs and lows of a relationship. The sun-tinged video features VHS clips of intimate moments, plus a cameo from the rapper’s current girlfriend, Chicken Shop Date’s Amelia Dimoldenberg.Aitch, who presented the award for Best Solo Act In The World with Big Zuu to Burna Boy at the BandLab NME Awards 2022 spoke to NME on the red carpet about the single.“I think everyone’s gonna love it,” he said of the track.

Aldous Harding has shared a new single today, ‘Fever’ – listen to the track below.It’s taken from her upcoming new album ‘Warm Chris’ and follows on from the previously released ‘Lawn‘. The New Zealand musician will release the follow-up to her April 2019 record ‘Designer’ on March 25 via 4AD.‘Warm Chris’ was produced by John Parish (who also produced ‘Designer’ and Harding’s 2017 LP ‘Party’), with all 10 tracks being recorded at Rockfield Studios. Harding’s 2021 single ‘Old Peel’ does not make the final cut, however.The album includes contributions from Sleaford Mods’ Jason Williamson as well as H. The singer stepped outside of the Bowery Hotel in New York, NY while on her way to rehearsals for her appearance on Saturday Night Live later tonight and flaunted a pink and dark purple tie-dyed ruffled crop top and matching mini skirt from Chet Lo. The beauty also wore neon green knee-high heeled boots with her stylish outfit and carried a mini hot pink purse with gold straps.
