Neil Young has announced the 50th anniversary reissue of his 1972 album ‘Harvest’.The veteran folk star will celebrate half a century of his seminal fourth album with a deluxe reissue that’s released on December 2 via Reprise (pre-order). Included in the reissue is a documentary called Harvest Time, from which Young has shared a previously unreleased live recording of him performing ‘Heart Of Gold’ for the BBC.Available on 3xLP or 3xCD, the box set will come with the following: the original album; three studio outtakes; the BBC solo set recorded on February 23, 1971; and Harvest Time. Also included is a hardbound photo book, posters, and liner notes by photographer Joel Bernstein.The outtakes included in the reissue are ‘Bad Fog Of Loneliness’, ‘Journey Through The Past’ and ‘Dance Dance Dance’.

Netflix has announced that a cheaper monthly subscription package will be launched in the UK next month. Priced at £4.99, the new option will include adverts and is set to be rolled out at 4pm on Thursday November 3.

Bruce Springsteen has released ‘Nightshift’, a cover of the Commodores original, lifted from the singer’s forthcoming album.‘Nightshift’ first appeared on the tracklist of Commodores’ titular 1985 album, and was written as a tribute to Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson (both of whom died the year prior). For his part, Springsteen stays true to the original, carrying the soulful tune atop a supporting band of brass, strings and backing vocalists.The track is accompanied by a music video directed by longtime Springsteen collaborator Thom Zimny.

Blink-182 have returned with their first song to feature Tom DeLonge in just months shy of a decade: a belting pop-punk anthem titled ‘Edging’.Despite its title (and the returning frontman’s penchant for tongue-in-cheek raciness) the song is surprisingly void of sex jokes, instead offering a self-deprecative take on the dissolution of a relationship. It opens with DeLonge singing the first verse, as he quips: “I ain’t that cool, a little fucked in the head / They’ll be hangin’ me quick when I’m back from the dead.”A music video for ‘Edging’, directed by Cole Bennett, is due to be released tomorrow (October 15).

Johnny Depp flashed a smile for fans who waited outside his show in New York as he returned to the states to perform with Jeff Beck on the US leg of the tour after spending the summer playing gigs in Europe. The 59-year-old actor appeared to be in high spirits ahead of the performance while signing autographs and chatting with legions of loyal followers at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester.

A Nashville man has been charged with homicide after a 52-year-old man he brutally beat with a metal pipe died of his injuries, authorities said Friday. Bryan Rebenstorf, 45, is accused of striking Jerry Muller with the pipe multiple times underneath a pedestrian bridge on 2nd Avenue North in downtown Nashville on Monday night, the Metro Nashville Police Department said.

Two caretakers at a Texas nursing home are faced charges this week after video surveillance footage allegedly showed them injuring an 87-year-old man in his room. Solidago Health and Rehabilitation caretakers Lisa Cooper, 61, and Keycia Johnson, 57, turned themselves into Texas City police Thursday pending an investigation into the assault.  Both women were charged with injuring an elderly person, a second-degree felony. The Texas City nursing home said the women were immediately suspended and have since been fired.

Quentin Tarantino is prepping to embark on a book tour for his first nonfiction book “Cinema Speculation,” which releases on Nov. 1. The tour will see the filmmaker, cinephile and now podcaster make stops in five major U.S. cities from Nov. 3-16. Tarantino will kick off his promo jaunt in Los Angeles, then head to San Francisco, Portland and Austin before concluding at The Town Hall in New York City. In “Cinema Speculation,” the “Pulp Fiction” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” director finally does what fans have anticipated throughout his 30-year long career: write about and analyze the films that shaped him, from his early childhood to his adulthood. As one of the most famous movie-lovers of all time, Tarantino packs in film criticism, film theory, reporting and personal history while centering on key movies made throughout the 1970s. The book will be published by Harper Collins and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon. Neil Young has announced ‘World Record’, a new album the singer created with his band Crazy Horse.The 10-song album will be released on November 18, and was produced by Rick Rubin at his Shangri-La studios in Malibu. The same studio was previously used by Young to record his 2016 album, ‘Peace Trail’.

But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t reserved the right to weigh in — subtly — when his music is licensed for commercials going forward. Young seems to not be entirely approving of an NFL ad over the weekend that used Beck’s newly commissioned cover version of “Old Man” as its soundtrack. The veteran rocker did not weigh in on the Beck cover or its usage directly, and he could not be reached for comment. But Young seemed to say it all with an image that was posted to his official Instagram account Monday.
