Guy Lodge Film Critic There is no unknown country in “The Unknown Country,” a gently meandering road trip through an America that even those of us directly unacquainted have traveled via the movies: Morrisa Maltz’s lovely second feature trades in the familiar imagery of unfettered highways ribboned through the great, grassy middle of nowhere, roadside inns outlined in humming hot-pink neon, gas stations slumped against the sparse landscape like oily oases. It’s the people building their lives along this route, however, that this sociable, inquisitive docufiction seeks to discover, as Maltz profiles the faces flashing by the driver only passing through.

Streaming juggernauts Bad Bunny and the Weeknd join Scott on “Kpop,” the racy new track that officially marks Scott’s post-Astroworld comeback. Scott officially announced a collaboration with Bad Bunny and the Weeknd (“Flame, Abe, Benito,” Scott captioned the single’s announcement post) on July 19 but both of Scott’s guests had been teasing their involvement in his new album for months. The Weeknd and Bad Bunny were seen photographed with a briefcase emblazoned with the title of Scott’s upcoming album “Utopia.” Mike Dean was also seen with the suitcase in hand before he confirmed his participation via social media with a photo of the album’s masters. (Dean also posted a teaser for “Kpop.”)

Most of the song was performed by Williams in a capella while the rest of the band took a back seat. In fan-captured videos, Williams’ silhouette stands out as she’s surrounded by dim red lighting. She can be heard belting out the bridge: “It is so simple a feeling, but it’s everything / No matter who you love, it is so simple a feeling, but it’s everything.” The song is somewhat of a deep cut from Beyoncé’s fourth studio album, 2011’s “4,” which featured mega-hits like “Who Run the World (Girls),” “Count Down,” “Love on Top” and “Dance for You.” “I Miss You” was penned by Frank Ocean and marked his and Beyoncé’s first collaboration together as artists. They again joined forces on the song “Superpower” from her self-titled album and Ocean’s “Pink & White,” from his album “Blond.” Like Williams, Ocean has performed his own rendition of the song during his rare live performances.

Travis Scott has announced a special launch show and livestream for his upcoming album, ‘Utopia’.The rapper took to social media on Sunday night (July 9) to break the news. Per his post, the livestream and show will take place on July 28 at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

Thania Garcia Lil Uzi Vert will be performing in venues across the U.S. later this fall for the newly-announced “Pink Tape” tour in support of their latest, 26-track album album “Pink Tape.” The 17-date trip will be Uzi’s first headlining jaunt since 2018’s “Endless Summer Tour,” and is slated to begin on Oct. 21 in Minneapolis, before making numerous stops across major cities like Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, New York City, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Denver, among other cities. They will close the tour with a special hometown performance in Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center on Nov. 22. “Pink Tape,” the follow-up to the rapper’s 2020 record, “Pluto x Baby Pluto,” is expected to be one of the top rap releases of the year when it arrives on U.S. charts next week. It features guest verses from Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Bring Me The Horizon and more.
