Breaking Bad star Laura Fraser and Malpractice‘s Ella Maisy Purvis will play a detective duo in six-part drama series Patience from Eagle Eye Drama, PBS Distribution and Beta Film.
Cameras are rolling on Patience in Belgium, with filming set to move to York in the UK later in the spring. PBS Distribution holds all North American rights and the show will launch on PBS, as well as streaming on the PBS Masterpiece Prime Video Channel and branded PBS platforms, including PBS.org and the PBS App.
Fraser will play Detective Bea Metcalf, who forms an unlikely duo with Purvis’ young autistic police archivist, Patience Evans. Their investigations unfold against the backdrop of the historic city of York.

Metcalf is the first person to spot and utilize Patience’s talent, which opens a door into a whole new world for the archivist.
Neuro-diversity will play a thematic role in the series, with all neuro-divergent characters within the series will be played by neuro-diverse actors — including Purvis.
The series marks the latest collaboration between UK producer Eagle Eye and Germany-based producer-distributor Beta, following ITV’s Professor T, the Natascha McElhone-starrer Hotel Portofino and The Couple Next Door, which stars Sam Heughan (Outlander, Suspect) and Eleanor Tomlinson (The Outlaws, Poldark) and recently became Channel 4’s biggest scripted streaming launch ever.
