LA Mayor Eric Garcetti announced a big change in a press conference on Wednesday (June 3) to residents of the city.
During the conference, he announced that the city of Los Angeles will be cutting about $150 million from the LAPD budget and reinvesting it into communities of color.
Garcetti said that he is “committed to making this moment not just a moment. It is time to move our rhetoric towards action to end racism in our city.”
