Having a pint with the King is a bragging right many Royal enthusiasts would love to have. So, when one man saw his chance while Charles was on an official visit in his town, he jumped at the opportunity to invite the Royal for a drink - and Charles's cheeky reply reportedly had the crowd in stitches. Charles, who was then the Prince of Wales, was in Birmingham when this unexpected encounter occurred.
However, the amused spectators didn't realise that this wasn't the only interaction Charles had with the man that day.
The meeting happened back in August 2022, just a few weeks before the sad passing of the late Queen Elizabeth. He was in Birmingham during the Commonwealth Games and was mingling with fans in Victoria Square when local, Daniel Walker, strolled by on his way to meet his mates at the pub, and decided to extend an invitation to Charles. "Charles, Charles, are you going to go for a beer?" Daniel was caught on camera asking.
Initially, Charles didn't quite catch what he was being asked and responded, "What?", reports the Mirror. Daniel confidently repeated his question, which seemed to amuse Charles who replied playfully, "Where?" causing the surrounding crowd to erupt in laughter. Daniel said he didn't mind where they went, suggesting: "Anywhere, Albert's Schloss?" to which Charles warmly responded, "Thank you so much." However, the encounter didn't end there, as reported by the Daily Record.
