Two children from Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) sat proudly alongside Pep Guardiola and the rest of the Manchester City squad for the official 2022/23 squad photo.
The first team have a picture taken every year at the end of the transfer window, and all six new signings had arrived in time for this year's shot including deadline day Manuel Akanji. Aymeric Laporte was also there in full kit despite his long-term injury keeping him out until the end of September at the earliest.
This year, City decided to make some additions to their photo. After the relaxation of social distancing measures put in place during the early months of the pandemic in 2020, the club were able to meet patients from RMCH for one of the first times in over two years.

Jacob Craddock, 11, has cerebral palsy, autism, and intestinal failure while 10-year-old Roary Millington was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2018 but completed his treatment in January of this year and is now in recovery. Both are huge City fans and were able to spend time with Guardiola and the squad behind the doors of the training ground as well as being included in the photo to give them a day to remember.
“It’s great to be able to bring patients here who have obviously been through quite a lot and to give them something back to them is amazing - we are all incredibly grateful to Manchester City for giving us the opportunity," said Joanne Roberts, relationship manager at RMCH.
