Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji has explained the differences between playing in the Premier League and the Bundesliga following his top flight debut at Wolves.
Akanji played well in City's Champions League victories over Sevilla and his former club Borussia Dortmund, leading to him earn a first Premier League start against Bruno Lage's side. The 27-year-old's good start to life in Manchester continued as the Blues beat the West Midlands team 3-0.
Jack Grealish, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden all found the back of the net for City as the hosts were swept aside in the Saturday lunchtime kick off. Speaking post-match, Akanji reflected on the differences between playing in England and Germany.

"I felt good," Akanji told City's official website. "The legs are a little bit tired after the game, but I am used to this in the Bundesliga.
"These games in the Premier League are more intense and more physical but I felt great. It felt great to be out there for 90 minutes.
"I think the early goal helped us, especially after the Champions League game that we had three days ago [against Borussia Dortmund] and gave us all confidence for the 90 minutes. With the second goal following we were pretty confident and also the red card helped us.
"In the second half they tried again but we defended well, waited for our chance and took it really well so then the game was basically over. It wasn’t easy, but we got the three points."
