Explosions In The Sky have announced their first album in seven years and a world tour kicking off later this year.‘End’ is set for release on September 15 via Bella Union, and the announcement arrives with first single ‘Ten Billion People’. You can pre-order/pre-save the new record here.Alongside new music, the Texas band have also announced ‘The End Tour’, which will see them tour the US in September before visiting 26 cities across the UK and Europe from November.The tour kicks off in Houston on September 25, visiting cities including Nashville, Chicago, Philadelphia and more, before finishing up in New York on October 5.

The band has announced 50 new dates to their upcoming tour, titled “The Tour,” spanning 20 countries in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, plus additional North American shows. Following on from 2014’s ‘Get Hurt’, the upcoming collection was first previewed earlier this year with the song ‘Positive Charge’.Today (July 21) sees the arrival of the title track from ‘History Books’, a “heavy-hearted” team-up with fellow New Jersey native Springsteen.Speaking about how the single came about, Gaslight Anthem frontman Brian Fallon explained: “When Bruce Springsteen said I should write a duet for us, I think my head exploded.“It will never get old to me that one of the greatest songwriters in the world, and the voice of one of my heroes will forever be captured in a song I wrote at a small wooden desk, in October, in New Jersey.”Per a press release, the collaboration explores “the power in letting go of what no longer serves you”.
