Kate Middleton has not been seen at any public engagements since Christmas, it has been revealed, as Kensington Palace released a statement confirming that the Princess of Wales is currently in hospital. The princess has been recuperating after undergoing an abdominal surgery, and is not expected to return to her public duties until after Easter, which is March 31.
And as royal fans shared their concerns for the mum of three, it emerged that the last time she was seen in public was on Christmas Day, 23 days ago. The princess was attending the Royal Family's annual service at the local church on the Sandringham estate, where many of the senior members of the family gather, including The King and Queen Camilla.
At the time, Kate appeared to be all smiles as she walked hand-in-hand with her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, her husband Prince William by her side. It comes as Kensington Palace shared the news that the princess had successfully had planned abdominal surgery yesterday, Tuesday, 16 January.
The senior royal was admitted to the London Clinic of Marylebone for the procedure, and will now remain in hospital for an expected 10-14 days. The palace's statement read: "Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic yesterday for planned abdominal surgery.
The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery.
