Kate Middleton broke Royal style protocol to prove she's ready 'to be in charge'

On Christmas Day we are normally treated to a small glimpse of what the Royal Family get up to as they all venture to St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. On the big day we see the likes of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and, of course, The Queen dressed in their finest to partake in the tradition.

Royal Carols: Together At Christmas viewers have gushed over Kate Middleton’s musical skills in light of The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, playing the piano alongside Tom Walker as he sang his Christmas song, For Those Who Can't Be Here. The festive episode aired on ITV tonight, Friday 24 December, and featured performances from Leona Lewis, Ellie Goulding and a performance of To The Day – a composition created for the service by poet and writer Lemn Sissay – as well as Kate.

Tom Walker had a very special guest playing piano when he performed “Those Who Can’t Be Here” during Royal Carols: Together at Christmas on Christmas Eve. Kate Middleton was his special musical guest, playing piano on television for the very first time during the performance. The Duchess of Cambridge looked holiday ready for the performance, wearing a long red dress as she tickled the ivory keys. The performance was televised on the evening of Dec. 24.

Kate Middleton stunned in a red cardigan with floral detailing while helping decorate the Christmas tree at Westminster Abbey. The trees were donated by Her Majesty The Queen from Great Windsor Park.
