Adidas shareholders have filed a class action lawsuit against the company, claiming bosses at the sportswear knew about Kanye West’s unprofessional and offensive behaviour years prior to the company ending its partnership in 2022 over his antisemitic comments. It is entirely shot in the online post-apocalyptic world of DayZ, a multiplayer survival video game set in the fictional post-Soviet Republic of Chernarus, where a mysterious plague has turned most of the population into violent zombies. Under the guise of avatars, the three-member film crew entered this world and made contact with its players. Their goal was to show how the gaming world can be a place where players become part of a strong community, they tell Variety.

Negotiations with a U.S. partner are in the final stages. The show, produced by multiple Primetime Emmy award winner and “Game of Thrones” executive producer Frank Doelger and NDF IP’s managing director Eric Welbers, is set to play on the Sky Max channel in the U.K. later this year. “The Swarm” scored huge ratings in Germany on ZDF and on Austria’s ORF. In Germany, it attracted up to 10 million views per episode (linear and catch-up combined), multiple prime time wins, and big successes within the younger target group (between the ages of 14-49).

A new Daily Beast report has thrown cold water on the prospect of a full-fledged 2024 campaign for president from Kanye West, who is reportedly focusing exclusively on his private Christian school Donda Academy.
