Because so many players were injured, Klopp picked five young players from the academy to sit on the bench. These players had never started a Premier League game before. During the game, Bobby Clark and James McConnell came on, and 18 year old Jayden Danns was given his first team debut.
Klopp was happy to give the young players a chance, but he said he doesn't know when the injured first-team players will be able to come back.
"No (no new updates), I don't even know if these boys can play again to be honest," Klopp said after the match. "The situation is not great, absolutely not.
"I am so happy the kids came on and played. Dannsy said 50 times, 'Thank you, boss! Thank you, boss!' I am so happy I could give them that opportunity. It's just nice and the boys deserve it.
