Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince believes Jarrad Branthwaite has only 'had one good season' and that it's 'tough' to play for the club.
United had an opening bid of £35million for Branthwaite rejected by Everton last Friday (June 14) after reportedly agreeing terms over a move. The 21-year-old centre half enjoyed a breakthrough year at Goodison playing regularly in the heart of Everton's defence last season.
He also signed a new contract with Everton running until 2027 as well as being voted Everton's Players' Player and Supporters' Young Player of the Season. But Ince, speaking to Bet365, isn't sure the young centre half is the answer for United due to his inexperience.

"Jarrad Branthwaite has had a steady season in a team that struggled against relegation in Everton, and we’re talking about a player that came from Carlisle."
"He's made great strides in such a short space of time so I think a move to Manchester United is a possibility," Ince said, before adding: "The problem is that United have signed players in the past that have had one good season."
He continued: "It's not that easy and he's got a lot to learn but he's got plenty of pace, I like the way he plays, he's aggressive and yeah he's another potential signing." Ince went on to comment on how he doesn't think the Everton starlet was quite ready for England despite being included in Gareth Southgate's provisional squad for Euro 2024.
