Janelle Monáe plays amnesia-addled character in ‘Homecoming’ season two teaser trailer

's second season mystery is beginning to unravel. Amazon Prime Video dropped the first full-length trailer for the sophomore season of its critically acclaimed show, which will see Janelle Monae take over the leading role from Julia Roberts.

We're very worried about Janelle Monáe in the trailer for Season 2 of Amazon's Homecoming. Or, well, we're worried about her character, Jackie, who wakes up floating in a rowboat with no idea who she is.

Amazon Prime Video is making it a little easier for you to decide what to watch next month with the exciting list of original shows and movies being added to its library. In May, Amazon will debut several new originals, including its new sci-fi series Upload, starring Robbie Amell, a four-part docuseries called The Last Narc, and Jimmy O. Yang's new comedy special. Amazon will also roll out the second season of Homecoming, which sees Janelle Monáe take the lead, in May.

YouTube is doubling down on entertaining you during COVID-19. Like so many networks and streaming platforms, production on YouTube's original content was halted when social distancing began. To make up for it, the company has now commissioned a whole star-studded slate of programming that will be shot remotely. This is YouTube, after all, a platform popularized by vloggers who make videos in their own homes all the time, so maybe it's not not all that surprising to see them pivoting to this.

Amazon Prime Video just dropped the new trailer for the upcoming second season of Homecoming. The critically-acclaimed series returns for its second season with a fresh new mystery and an exciting new star, Janelle Monáe (Moonlight). Her character wakes in a rowboat adrift a lake, with no memory of how she got there — or even who she is. Her ensuing search for identity will lead her into the heart of the Geist Group, the unconventional wellness company behind the Homecoming Initiative.

Janelle Monáe is up a creek — or, fine, stuck on a lake — without a paddle in the first footage from Season 2 of Homecoming. On Wednesday, Amazon released the first teaser trailer for the new season, which introduces Monáe's character, Jackie, as she wakes up in a rowboat with no idea how she got there or who she is.

One of Amazon's most buzzed-about series of 2018 was Julia Roberts' Homecoming, which told the story of the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, a live-in facility designed to helped soldiers transition into civilian life. The 10-episode season turned into a psychological thriller that grabbed audiences around the world.

The mystery is only growing deeper in “Homecoming” season 2.
