Police have confirmed to the Lennox that they will continue their investigations into "non-recent abuse" in Jamestown for "at least another week."
A huge police presence has been in Davidson Road, near Inler Park, including multiple police cars, a mobile police station and un-liveried vehicles, since last Thursday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Lennox that it was in relation to an ongoing investigation, adding: “Officers are investigating a report of non-recent abuse in Alexandria. Enquiries are ongoing.”
And this morning they confirmed that they would remain on site for at least another week.
Earlier this week the Lennox told how residents remained in the dark over the reasons for the police presence, around the flats at 20 Davidson Road.
On Monday afternoon officers were seen photographing areas of the gardens and opening a lock-up to the rear of the property. Items were also placed in clear bags and removed from the scene.
