A disgraced police officer who assaulted a schoolboy whilst on-duty faces the sack.
Graeme Gale pulled the teenage boy from a wall before tripping the youth during an incident last summer.
Investigators say the boy, aged just 14, was injured during the assault and left in "pain", as reported by Teesside Live.
The North Yorkshire PC was sentenced at Teesside Magistrates' Court shortly before Christmas, having earlier pleaded guilty to assault.
Now Gale faces a misconduct hearing over accusations of "discreditable conduct."
"On the 14 July 2021, PC Gale, whilst off duty, assaulted a 14-year-old boy (Boy A) on Darlington Road, Richmond.," states a public misconduct notice.
"In particular by pulling/dragging him off a wall, applying to him, and/or attempted on him numerous leg sweeps/kicks and caused him to fall to the ground.
"The assault resulted in visible injury in the form of scratches to the back of his neck and pain. On the 29 November 2021, PC Gale attended Teesside Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to the assault of Boy A.
"On the 17th December 2021, PC Gale attended Teesside Magistrates Court and was sentenced to a 12-month community order."
Court staff confirmed the officer, from Whitefields Drive in Richmond, had to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service and and a £95 victim surcharge.
He now faces the "accelerated" hearing, chaired by North Yorkshire Police Chief Constable Lisa Winward.
The hearing, at the force's Northallerton headquarters, takes place on Friday, February 11.
