Fans were upset over the chef's decision to end his festive show with a cover of the Rolling Stones' song Sympathy for the Devil. On Twitter, one viewer wrote: "I'm having a fever dream in which James Martin is on tv on Christmas Day jamming along to Sympathy With The Devil....
Similarly, another said: "'Sympathy for the Devil' is a lovely festive song for James Martin to cover for his Christmas special". A third said : "James Martin is playing sympathy for the Devil with his "band" in his house on Christmas day. It's the worst thing I've ever seen.
