Good Morning Britain viewers were quick to have their say as Richard Madeley returned to their screens this morning. The TV star was back at the helm of the ITV news programme on Tuesday (October 11) after months away.
He reunited with co-host Susanna Reid two months after he hosted his last episode before a lengthy summer break. "You’ve abandoned life and you’re back on the earlies and it is absolutely lovely to have you back," Susanna said to her co-star after they welcomed viewers to the latest edition of the show.
She then added: "Your family has changed since I last saw you," before Richard was able to gush over his new granddaughter, Bodhi Rae Georgia Haskell. He revealed that his and wife Judy Finnigans daughter Chloe actually gave birth during his last appearance on the show.

"Well on my very last day doing the show in the middle of August a couple of months ago, I couldn’t tell you at the time because my didn’t want me say anything but she was in labour," he revealed to Susanna. "She was having the baby, and the baby was actually born at 8:40am, while we were in the commercial break, which was very handy."
He also gave a fresh update on Chloe, her husband James Haskell and their baby girl, sharing that they have currently moved in with Richard and Judy at their London home. "Our house in London has been baby central, because Chloe, her husband and the baby have been living with us, because their house is being done up," the 62-year-old explained.
"So they’ve been living with us for three months, and I love it! You just go in and it’s like 'baby, baby, baby everywhere.'" He
