HYBE sublabel ADOR says it will take legal action “on a regular basis” against perpetrators of “malicious activities”, including defamation, targeting its new girl group NewJeans.The label uploaded a notice on its official Twitter account yesterday (August 10) announcing its plans to begin initiating legal action against individuals found to have produced malicious content against the K-pop girl group. ADOR encouraged fans of the group to report such incidents to the company for further action.“Our company has decided to initiate and continue legal proceedings on a regular basis against perpetrators of malicious activities targeting NewJeans and any content by the company including ill-intentioned criticism, the spread of groundless information and defamation,” ADOR’s English statement read.“We ask you to report such activities, including malicious posts, to the official ADOR email hotline for legal affairs ([email protected]),” continued the label, before going on to share the encouraged procedure fans should use to email the company.

Talib Kweli is suing the US-based website Jezebel for emotional distress that he claims was brought on by a 2020 article titled ‘Talib Kweli’s Harassment Campaign Shows How Unprotected Black Women Are Online and Off’.The story in question, which was written by Ashley Reese, detailed the Black Star rapper’s alleged social media interactions with and about a then-24-year-old student and activist called Maya Moody.In July 2020, Kweli confirmed in a post on Instagram that he’d “officially left” Twitter and said he would instead be using the membership fee-based service Patreon. “Now most of my exchanges will always be with real fans who invest in me,” he wrote, citing the “bigots and trolls” he’d dealt with previously.But Reese claimed in the Jezebel piece that Kweli, 46, was removed from Twitter due to “repeated violations” of the website’s rules.

EXCLUSIVE: Annaleigh Ashford is set to co-star opposite Sarah Paulson in Searchlight Pictures’ upcoming horror thriller Dust. Will Joines and Karrie Crouse are directing the pic, which was penned by Crouse.  The film will stream on Disney’s DTC platforms as a Hulu Original in the U.S., with additional release plans to be announced.  Principal photography is set to commence late August. Paulson is also exec producing.
