‘B Positive’ Star Annaleigh Ashford Joins Sarah Paulson In Searchlight Horror Thriller ‘Dust’

Annika Pham Swedish helmer Mika Gustafson, one of a roster of promising Swedish voices with “Clara Sola”’s Natalie Álvarez-Mesén at Stockholm-based Hobab, has finalised the cast for her directorial debut “Sisters.”  The feature is in final stages of filming, and co-produced by Italy’s Intramovies, Denmark’s Toobox and Finland’s Tuffi Films. Ida Engvoll, who broke out in Netflix romcom “Love & Anarchy,” plays Hanna, a young woman drawn into an unexpected adventure when she encounters Laura (16), eldest of a trio of socially-deprived sisters. 

A revival of the Stephen Sondheim musical Sweeney Todd starring Josh Groban and Annaleigh Ashford could land on Broadway this Spring, with the team behind Hamilton – producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail – attached, according to a published report.

It’s been more than five years since the debut of Ryan Murphy’s other, other FX anthology project, “Feud.” After the success of “American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story,” FX was hoping to get Murphy to continue his anthology hot streak with a new series that aimed its spotlight on famous Hollywood spats. The first season went on to earn a number of awards including multiple Emmys.

EXCLUSIVE: Ebon Moss-Bachrach is set to join Sarah Paulson and Annaleigh Ashford in horror thriller Dust. Will Joines and Karrie Crouse are directing the pic, which was penned by Crouse. The film will stream on Disney’s DTC platforms as a Hulu Original in the U.S., with additional release plans to be announced.  Principal photography is set to commence late August. Paulson is also exec producing.

Writer Sarah Burgess and star Sarah Paulson said they were trying to understand and depict what motivated Linda Tripp in Impeachment: American Crime Story. The FX limited series depicts the impeachment hearings of President Bill Clinton (Clive Owen) after his affair with Monica Lewinsky (Beanie Feldstein). Paulson plays Tripp, who recorded Lewinsky’s phone calls with Clinton and gave them to Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr (Dan Bakkedahl).
