Emmerdale star Liam Fox has been at the heart of the ITV soap for 12 years playing the role of Dan Spencer, but has now bid farewell to the Yorkshire village. Liam, 53, first joined Emmerdale in 2011 and was initially contracted for just eight episodes but was quickly offered the spot as a soap regular and has been involved in a number of dramatic and emotional storylines ever since. But his time on the popular soap is coming to an end as his persona, Dan was sentenced to eight years in prison for manslaughter this week after he punched Lloyd Sawyer who suffered fatal injuries - Lloyd had been stalking his daughter Amelia online.
Talking about the major storyline Liam told Daily Star and other press: "It's definitely one of the best stories I've had and it does feel like it's something a bit special. "I'm not used to having long days. I'm used to thinking being a soap actor is quite easy but the last two months haven't been but it's been great.
Apart from the live episode, this is the most satisfying thing in the last 12 years." He continued: "It's been a total journey. It's been hard but kind of being nice doing day after day; learn your lines, film, go home, learn your lines, film, go home. At the end of a couple of months, you think that was hard work but it's worth it." Speaking to PA, he said: "It's just been constant.
Because I have been quiet the last few years and suddenly… because all actors have doubt themselves. You know, if you’re quiet: ‘Can I do this? Am I actually any good at this?’ "And then you get a good story and you reboot again and you go: ‘Oh, I can do it’.That’s all an actor wants to do. You just want to do good work, audience to like it and then move on to the next script.
