Battle with hyperemesis gravidarum During an appearance on Giovanna Fletcher’s 'Happy Mum, Happy Baby' podcast back in February 2020, the Duchess of Cambridge got candid about suffering from severe morning sickness, also known as hyperemesis gravidarum. Kate, who was reportedly ‘too sick’ to take George to his first day of school' because of it, said the experience was “utterly rotten”.
She continued: “I was really sick. I wasn't eating the things I should be eating and yet the body was still able to take all the goodness from my body and to grow new life, which I think is fascinating.” As a result of her condition, the mum of three explained that William was left feeling helpless as he was unable to do anything to ease her sickness.
