It’s been a bittersweet end to the year for EastEnders star Bobby Brazier.
The 20-year-old captured the hearts of many TV viewers with his impressive turn on Strictly Come Dancing. He may have been beaten to the glitterball trophy at the weekend by Corrie’s Ellie Leach, as the pair battled with Layton Williams for the win, but he’s tipped for big things since his spin on the dance floor with partner Dianne Buswell.
Every week that Bobby competed in the BBC show, his family were behind him offering their full support and dad Jeff, stepmum Kate Dwyer and wee brother Freddie, 19, were often seen in the audience, sometimes left in tears at his performances, including one he dedicated to late mum Jade Goody. But there were some family members not there as Bobby has had to navigate some family tension behind the scenes with the resurfacing of a fiery feud that came back into the spotlight with his Strictly appearance.
Earlier this year his grandma Jackiey Budden, mum of reality star Jade who tragically passed away on Mother’s Day in 2009, blasted Jeff and called him a “c***” for being mean to her “for nine years”.
Bobby and Freddie have lived with their dad since Big Brother icon Jade’s death from cervical cancer at the age of just 27. Jeff had let slip there could be issues between him and Jade’s mum at one point as the now 44-year-old hinted at “pitfalls and stumbling blocks” which were causing issues as he tried to ensure a relationship between his kids and their grandma.
He also claimed former drug addict Jackiey had been spoiling the two youngsters and buying them “unsuitable” gifts, including a mobile phone and a hamster, which he’d had to “confiscate”, as reports the Mirror.
