Footage has captured the moment a huge jet of water erupted onto a road in Stockport after a water pipe burst.
Drivers and residents on Longhurst Lane in Mellor, near Stockport were left stunned after a powerful surge of water burst into the air and onto the road.
Engineers from United Utilities are on route to start repairs and the water supply in the area is currently unaffected.

One resident, who did not wish to be named, said: “It’s very close to our house and we saw everybody out on the street at around 12.30pm.
“It’s bursting out a lot of rocks. It’s spectacular. I've never seen anything like it in my entire life. Everyone had to drive through in their cars because they had no other choice but it’s huge. It’s bonkers. Gallons on water has been lost over several hours.
“We’ve all filled up kettles but everyone still has water."
A United Utilities spokesperson said: “Our team are on route to set up the traffic management and start the repair and will aim to complete this as soon as possible. All customers remain on supply.”
