However, when they checked their bills for the future they discovered it would come to a staggering £168.49 once the contract came to an end. After contacting Sky via Facebook messenger and chatting to an advisor who they sent screenshots to, they were offered a much kinder deal of £93.50 with the addition of Sky Sports days before the football season began.
They managed to snag this deal by explaining to the advisor that they saw other new customers being offered packages at a far cheaper price.
Sam noted how if they didn't contact Sky, their monthly package would have remained at £168.49. They added: "It's worth noting Sky certainly isn't alone in enticing new customers with offers at the start of their contract. Virgin Media quoted us £95 a month for a similar package.
