Here’s when ’28 Years Later’ is coming out

While it made $65 million dollars worldwide in its global opening, it’s fair to say that the domestic opening for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” at $32 million, was underwhelming and, worrisomely, might be the end of the ‘Mad Max’ franchise. Then again, “Mad Max: Fury Road” never opened up substantially higher, only earning $45 million in its early May debut in 2015.

28 Years Later has begun filming in the North-east this week according to a new report in The Knowledge.News of the new film was first announced earlier this year, with confirmation that director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, who helmed the 2002 original 28 Days Later, were both returning to the franchise. 28 Years Later will be the first of a follow-up trilogy to the original films.Cillian Murphy was also recently confirmed as returning to the franchise that launched his career.Earlier this month, the film was given the official release date of June 20, 2025.

After much hemming and hawing and a little bit of teases about his appearance, Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy has been confirmed for Sony’s “28 Years Later” horror thriller. Sony chief Tom Rothman revealed the news in a new interview with Deadline.

Even Andrea Arnold’s Competition title Bird is rich with Irish talent with star Barry Keoghan and Oscar-nominated cinematographer Robbie Ryan both having worked on the film. 

Bridgerton returns in 2024 with another batch of episodes.Created by Chris Van Dusen, the period drama revolves around the fictional Bridgerton family as they navigate London high society in the early 1800s.The show is based on the books by Julia Quinn, with the third season adapting her fourth Regency romance novel, Romancing Mister Bridgerton.Following the second season, a spin-off titled Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story was released in May 2023. The first four episodes of season three arrived on May 16, 2024.The remaining four episodes of season three will be released on June 13, so there’s only a month to wait for the concluding half.Bridgerton was renewed for a third and fourth season back in April 2021, so another batch of episodes is already in the pipeline – although an exact release date is unknown.It seems like there’s plans for more seasons and spin-offs too.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.Directed by George Miller, Furiosa serves as a spin-off and prequel to 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road. It is the fifth instalment in the franchise overall, which began with the original Mad Max way back in 1979.This latest entry stars Anya Taylor-Joy as a young Furiosa, who was played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road.
