Helen Skelton is said to be 'feeling guilty' as she starts dating again following the breakdown of her marriage to Richie Myler.
The couple announced their shocking split last April just months after Helen gave birth to their daughter. Helen and Richie share three children together - sons Ernie and Louis and daughter Elsie.
The TV presenter, 40, has been spending the summer holidays with her children and enjoyed a family trip to the Lake District to celebrate her 40th birthday in July. Helen became a fan-favourite appearing on Strictly Come Dancing last year where she narrowly missed out on taking home the Glitterball trophy.
Following her Strictly stint, Helen has reportedly gained her confidence back and is ready to start dating again. However, the doting mum is said to be 'feeling guilty' as she worries about who she lets into her life.
A source told Closer: “Helen’s family and friends encouraged her to get back out there and she was happy to dip her toe back into the dating scene, but she has had some wobbles and found herself feeling guilty. She’s concerned about who to let into her life and worried about being judged for any decisions she makes.
“There have also been some people who have made comments about her not trying hard enough to make it work with Richie, and it’s made her think about her marriage and what went wrong," they continued.
"Ultimately, she knows she tried everything she could, and once the trust was broken there was just no going back. But dating again has brought up some unexpected feelings that she’s been struggling with.”
The insider added: “Her priority still is, and always will be, being the best mum she can be for the kids, but she knows that being happy in herself plays a big part of that.
