A heartbroken family have paid tribute to a man who died after getting into difficulty in water at a Scots loch.
The man, named locally as Scott Ferries, tragically passed away after the incident at Loch Doon in Dalmellington, East Ayrshire, which took place around 1.15pm on Sunday, March 27.
Emergency services raced to the loch after receiving reports of two men in difficulty in the water.
Scott died at the scene, while the second man was checked over by paramedics but did not require further medical treatment.
Following the devastating news, heartbroken family and friends have paid tribute to Scott, who has been described as a "lovely lad".
In a post on Facebook, Scott's dad James Ferries said: "My baby boy Scott has passed away today while enjoying life up camping and kayaking.
"Love you baby boy gbnf xxx."
Jayne Ferries added: "Just doesn't seem real, rest easy Scott."
Another of Scott's relatives, James Ferries commented: "Love you bro, till we meet again. Now you're higher than you could ever be down here."
Jade Ward said: "Rest in paradise you amazing laddie! You were loved by everyone! Get the drifts going bud and keep us all safe we love you bro."
David McKee said: " A lovely lad, so tragic."
XCooper XSteph said: " What a character he was, sending all my love to the family."
Police say a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal, but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances relating to Scott's death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received reports of two men in difficulty in the water at Loch Doon, Dalmellington, around 1.15pm on Sunday, March 27.
