Hannah Spearritt, who rose to fame as part of S Club 7, has shared her heartbreak following the shock death of her bandmate and former boyfriend, Paul Cattermole. Fans across the world were devastated when Paul's death was announced last week, just six months before S Club 7 were due to reunite for an epic tour of the UK. He was 46 years old.
The cause of Paul's death is unknown but Dorset Police has confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances. Hannah, who dated Paul while they were in the band together, has now spoken out for the first time following his shock passing. Speaking to The Sun, she admitted: "I can't stop crying." Hannah heartbreakingly revealed Paul was the "most excited" out of the group for the band's reunion tour later this year.
She continued: "It's still so raw and I have these moments where I don't quite believe that it's real," she said. "My heart is broken for him and his family. He was happier than he had been in years, so for this to happen now, makes it even more heart-breaking.
"And with Paul being famous, it makes it more difficult emotionally as it’s a lot harder to block it all out, which is my coping mechanism. Having said that, the messages of support have been heart-warming - they have helped bring a little ray of sunshine within the darkness." Exes Hannah and Paul had met up in recent weeks to 'clear the air' before the tour. Hannah's emotional comments come after Rachel Stevens played a thoughtful tribute to Paul on her Heart Radio show.
