S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt has recalled the moment she fell in love with her ex-boyfriend, Paul Cattermole, who sadly died earlier this month. Created in 1998 by the former manager of the Spice Girls, S Club 7 was comprised of Hannah, Paul, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Jo O'Meara and Bradley McIntosh. The band - who split in 2003 - boasted four studio albums, 11 singles and sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.
Hannah, 42, and Paul first met as child performers at the National Youth Music Theatre in London, where Hannah called him being “larger than life.” As friends, they lived together in a flat that was converted from a corner shop, and Hannah recalled catching feelings during a group trip to the US.The whole band moved to the States to film their sitcom, Miami 7, which ran for four seasons and was watched by 90 million users, and it was here that Hannah remembered feeling “jealous” when Paul was “flirting with everyone else.” After a “drunken snog”, Hannah and Paul engaged in a secret relationship that involved “sneaking around” for six months and leaving one another’s houses first thing in the morning. Speaking to The Sun, Hannah thought back to the moment they told the other bandmates about their relationship: "Their reaction was, ‘Yeah, we knew something was happening.' "But they were all really happy for us.Then we broke it to the management team." "We were loving life, we were young and we had an amazing lifestyle,” she added, further noting how their love was “honey-moon like.” Hannah and Paul would continue to date for three years following the band’s breakup, though they sadly split in 2006.
