Detective Inspector Chris Aunins, of GMP Stockport’s CID, said: “A substantial period of time has passed since the last known firearms discharge in Stockport. We will not tolerate this criminal behaviour and are doing everything we can to identify the person or people responsible so we can bring them to face justice.
“Our investigation has, so far, established that two off road bikes were in the area at the time – one is described as being black and the other as being red with a white mud guard. I ask anyone with information or any kind of footage of these vehicles to contact us or Crimestoppers immediately.
“We understand the impact this incident will have had on the community but can reassure members of the public that we are committed to keeping people safe, and part of that is removing these dangerous weapons from our streets. Extra patrols have been deployed to the community and will remain in place for the foreseeable.” Anyone with information should contact detectives via 0161 856 9821 quoting 3646 30/08/22. Information can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity – Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
