Green Day, BTS both scrap upcoming gigs in Asia over coronavirus fears

With the coronavirus outbreak proving to be a deadly pandemic, all across the globe, BTS had to no option but to cancel the four scheduled concerts in Seoul, South Korea, as a part of their Map of the Soul Tour. While ARMY was left gutted, no one was more heartbroken than the septet, with RM even expressing how angry he was with the situation during an emotional V Live session for their album, Map of the Soul: 7.

The international K-Pop star took the opportunity and discovered a new restaurant in South Korea recently. The discovery has left Tae-Tae so impressed that he wants to spread the word about the good food and great service hoping fans would find their way to the food outlet. 

To say that it's been an incredible year to be BTS would be an understatement! Firstly, the release of their album, Map of the Soul: 7 broke records not just in South Korea but all across the globe as well. It peaked at #1 in the Billboard 200 chart while the title song ON reached #4 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Moreover, MOTS: 7 managed to earn the top spots in the UK, Japan and Germany charts as well!

After the massive success of BTS' latest album, Map of the Soul: 7, the septet will soon be gearing up for the Map of the Soul Tour, which will kickstart in the US and end in Japan. However, initial tour dates had four concerts in South Korea, which were recently cancelled due to coronavirus outbreak. The MOTS tour dates were April 11, 12, 18 and 19, which has now been cancelled with ARMY getting their refunds back. Even when BTS performed at music shows, it was to an empty audience.

BTS was currently on a major promotional spree for their album, Map of the Soul: 7. After their US promotions, the Bangtan Boys took over the music shows in South Korea and got a staggering eight wins for the lead single of 7, ON. Now, as they take a mini-break and start gearing up for the world tour in April, BTS has a reason to celebrate as Suga turns 27 today, i.e. March 9, 2020. The singer celebrated with his BTS brothers and the septet shared videos of the same on Twitter.

Concerns over the worldwide coronavirus pandemic have led BTS and other musicians to cancel their upcoming concerts. On Thursday in South Korea alone, 256 new cases of coronavirus were reported, bringing the total number of reported cases to over 2,000.

BTS fans have donated more than $333,000 (£261,000) to help those in South Korea affected by coronavirus outbreaks.

Green Day, BTS, and Stormzy are among the big-ticket acts that have pulled out Asia dates in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

K-pop group BTS have canceled four concerts in South Korea due to the recent outbreak of coronavirus. According to a statement from the band’s representatives Big Hit Entertainment, the virus has “made it impossible at this time to predict the scale of the outbreak” during BTS’ slate of concerts in Seoul, which were originally scheduled for April 11, 12, 18, and 19. The dates were meant to kick off the group’s global Map of the Soul Tour.

Coronavirus has impacted BTS' upcoming concerts and the ARMY is not going to be happy. The South Korean band, who is making a comeback after their short hiatus with Map of the Soul: 7, was all set to set the stage on fire as part of their tour. However, the Bangtan Boys have decided to go against performing in South Korea following the scare of the deadly virus. The K-Pop band was supposed to perform at Seoul on April 11, 12, 18, and 19 at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium.
