Gogglebox, the show we all love for its fun and friendly TV reviews every Friday night, has had a fair share of off-screen drama that fans might not know about. Despite the light-hearted banter and gentle critiques we see on screen, there's been a lot of tension behind the scenes. Here, we take a peek at some of the biggest scandals and disagreements that have made waves on the show over time.
Paige Deville and Sally Hayward Paige Deville and her mum, Sally Hayward, have been firm favourites with viewers since they first appeared on the show in 2019. Nevertheless, in a surprising turn of events, Paige decided to leave the show in October 2021 and unleashed a storm of criticism towards her mother on social media. Many individuals believed that the disagreement originated from the show itself when Paige decided to exit.
However, Paige was quick to explain that this wasn't the case. She told her followers: "To clarify, people thinking I fell out with my mom over Gogglebox, my "mom" is an absolute disgrace who I wish to never speak to again due to a serious family issue NOT about a TV show." In a chat with BirminghamLive, Paige hinted that family issues, particularly with her mum, were in fact the reason she left the show. "There have been problems within the family and my mum was given an ultimatum," she shared.
"The decision means I have nothing to do with her now. I think the decision is irreversible." While she was upset at the time, Paige has since confessed that she feels "freer" since leaving the show. Chris Steed and Stephen Webb When Gogglebox first
