Sunetra Sarker is best known for her role as Dr Zoe Hanna on BBC's long-running medical drama series, Casualty. She regularly appeared on the series from 2007 to 2016 and made a short-lived return in 2018.
But now Sunetra is reprising her role in a special two-part story that marks the end of Derek Thompson’s incredible 38 years on show as nurse Charlie Fairhead, beginning on Saturday, 9 March. But what do we know about the star's life away from the cameras? In September 2014, Suentra, 50, split from her husband, Nick Corfield, after 10 years of marriage.
She shares a 23 year old son, Noah, with Nick, who she wed in August 2003.
The couple met in a bar while Sunetra was on holiday in Jersey in 1989.
The romance fizzled out, but the pair met again 10 years later in Jersey. In 2018, she tied the knot with partner Scott Carey.
The actress and company director had two ceremonies: one traditionally British, the other Indian, in a day that celebrated laughter, friendship and living by your own set of rules.
Speaking about the big day, she said: "I’m a bit embarrassed that in all our wedding photos I’ve got this big, crazy smile." Just last month, Sunetra underwent her first breast mammogram live on air in a bid to raise awareness after two of her close friends died from cancer.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star shared her experience of going for a routine mammogram in a bid to make women feel more at ease. On February 22, Sunetra appeared on Loose Women and revealed that two of her close friends had sadly died from cancer.
Invitations for routine mammography screening are sent out to women aged 50 to 70 every three years in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. In a bid to encourage other women to get their breasts
