Girl In Red postpones European headline tour

Girl In Red has announced a new one-off show in London next spring.The Norwegian singer-songwriter will bring her ‘Make It Go Quiet Tour’ to the capital’s O2 Brixton Academy on April 3, 2023. Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (May 27) and can be purchased here.It comes after she recently postponed her European headline tour due to damage to her vocal cords.“After my US tour ended on the 25th of April, I went to a throat specialist in Norway who said I had nodular damage to my vocal cords,” Girl In Red explained in a statement.

Caroline Polachek has announced a UK and European headline tour for later this year – tickets will be available here.The former Chairlift frontwoman will hit the road in October in support of her debut solo album ‘Pang’, which came out in 2019.Kicking off on October 16 in Berlin, the stint will also include performances in Hamburg (October 17), Paris (21), Amsterdam (24) and other European cities before Polachek’s UK leg commences in Brighton on October 27.Further dates are scheduled for Leeds (28), Manchester (29) and Bristol on November 1. Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has a cameo in upcoming series Obi-Wan Kenobi, according to reports.The Star Wars spin-off, set to be released on Disney+ on May 27, is set 10 years after events in 2005’s Revenge Of The Sith, where Kenobi witnessed his Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker turn to the dark side.According to Star Wars News Net, sources have said Flea, real name Michael Balzary, will make an appearance in the series in an unknown role.Rupert Friend, who plays the Grand Inquisitor in Obi-Wan Kenobi, recently teased in an interview with Hey U Guys that the show will feature “wonderful cameos”.“I think it’s one of the most thrilling additions to the Star Wars canon,” Friend said. “I think Ewan McGregor is doing things with that role that is a dream for fans of the original films… we can’t obviously have Alec Guinness back, but I just think Ewan was absolutely born to play that part.“But wonderful cameos from people I obviously can’t tell you, Easter eggs galore and… yeah, it’s a thrilling ride.”Flea has made numerous appearances in film and television over the years, including Back To The Future Part II, The Big Lebowski and minor voice roles in Pixar films Inside Out and Toy Story 4.He’s also set to appear in director Damien Chazelle’s (La La Land, Whiplash) upcoming film Babylon, starring alongside Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Tobey Maguire as Charlie Chaplin.

Billie Eilish has announced a climate change conference, called Overheated, which is basically a series of events that will take place at the O2 Arena in London in June to coincide with her tour dates at the venue.While specific sessions will vary across the dates, all will include screenings of a new documentary, also called ‘Overheated’, in which Eilish, Vivienne Westwood, Emily Eavis, Girl In Red, Yungblud and others feature.The first day, billed as ‘Overheated Live’, will take place on 10 Jun, kicking off with an introduction from Eilish and her brother Finneas. There will then be a keynote from a yet-to-be-announced speaker, plus other talks from Earthrise, Isaias Hernandez, Tori Tsui, Vanessa Nakate and more.After that, 16 Jun has been billed the ‘Music Climate Session’, featuring talks from Earth/Percent, Chiara Badiali and Dominique Palmer, among others, as well as performances by Sigrid and Love Ssega.There will also be other smaller events on 10-12, 16 and 26 Jun.
