Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice has had to cancel a live show in Wales after the venue was closed for construction checks. This comes at the same time as his dance partner, Amanda Abbington, has had to leave this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing due to health reasons.
Fleur East, host of It Takes Two, confirmed on Monday's episode that the Sherlock star would no longer be taking part in the BBC dance competition. A Strictly spokesperson also shared: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.
The show wishes her all the best for the future." Giovanni, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2021 with partner Rose Ayling-Ellis, posted a tribute to Amanda on Instagram as he shared a snap of the pair of them backstage.
He penned the sweet caption: "I am so sad we can't continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love," alongside a picture of them backstage. Now the Italian ballroom dancer has faced another setback this evening, after a venue for one of his upcoming shows in Wales announced its sudden closure.
Giovanni was due to take his Let Me Entertain You live tour to St David's Hall in Cardiff on January 24, 2024, where he would be joined by an outstanding cast of fellow pro dancers and West End performers for an 'unforgettable' evening of world-class entertainment. Unfortunately, ticketholders for the event will now have to make alternative plans for the night.
