Strictly Come Dancing's Giovanni Pernice has been spotted out in public for the first time since his dancing partner Amanda Abbington quit this year's series.
In pictures obtained by The Mirror, the Italian dancer, 33, appeared to be downcast as he stepped out in black jacket amid reports Amanda quit the BBC competition after becoming "fragile and frazzled" due to his "tough" training sessions.
According to reports, Strictly insiders "aren't surprised" the Sherlock actress withdrew from the competition.
On Monday night, Fleur East announced on It Takes Two that Amanda had left the show with a spokesperson for the BBC series going on to add: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition. The show wishes her all the best for the future."
Giovanni made a post on Instagram after the news broke but it’s since been alleged that the pair didn’t get on too well behind the scenes. Amanda didn't mention Giovanni when she shared a statement on Instagram followers on Tuesday morning, instead thanking production staff and “everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring”.
She wrote: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue. It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside.
