From Sexy Fish to Popeyes: The new bars and restaurants opening in Manchester this October

The transition into autumn can sometimes feel a little jarring, especially after months of late sunsets, al fresco dining and after-work drinks in a beer garden, but this time of year is often the most exciting for new restaurant and bar openings.
It might be the month that we embrace drinking pumpkin spice lattes, book in Sunday roasts and make plans for tackling the food stalls at the Christmas Markets, but this October we'll also need to clear some space in our schedule to check out a host of new late-night bars, luxury sushi spots and pizza joints.
This month will see the arrival of one of Manchester’s most hotly anticipated openings - Sexy Fish - as well as a new pub for Victoria Station, and plenty of ramen as two concepts launch in the city centre. Elsewhere, there will be a brand new alcohol-free pop-up for the sober curious and a host of new neighbourhood cafes and bars in the suburbs.

It's one of London's most luxurious restaurants and this October Sexy Fish will make its Manchester debut with jaw-dropping interiors, underwater-inspired installations and dishes inspired by the seas of Asia. Launching in the former Armani unit in Spinningfields, it represents the third global outpost for the brand, which quickly became a magnet for celebrities when it debuted in Mayfair in 2015, and consolidated its star power with a Miami branch in 2022.
