Fred has revealed he is a huge fan of the 'McFred' nickname that has been bestowed upon the midfield partnership between the Brazilian and Scott McTominay.
Although the pairing has often been maligned they have repeatedly proven that they are the best option Manchester United currently have in the middle of the park as they continue to be picked on a regular basis.
The nickname has often been uttered with disappointment by fans upon seeing them on the teamsheet but Fred says that he likes the monicker.
"I like it! I think it's because we played a lot of games together," he said in an interview with TNT Sports Brasil.
"He's a wonderful young player, has developed a lot throughout the years but of course there is lot of years ahead of him to improve even more. I'm very happy to play alongside him, but also it's important to value every member of our midfield."
The duo very well may line up next to each other once again on Wednesday when United return to European action to take on Atletico Madrid in the first-leg of their last 16 tie.
