Bayern Munich have approached former Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick to explore the possibility of appointing the German.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as United boss in November 2021 after a string of dreadful results and Rangnick was appointed on an interim basis, despite not having recent managerial experience.
The appointment of Rangnick outlined he would manage United until the end of the 2021/22 season and move into a position upstairs at the end of his temporary reign.
However, Rangnick's tenure didn't go as planned, performances got worse and United recorded their lowest points total in a Premier League season.

Erik ten Hag was appointed from Ajax and the plan to give Rangnick an upstairs role was abandoned, leading him to become Austria's national team manager.
Rangnick has managed Austria since 2022 and he'll oversee them at this summer's European Championship, but he could manage Bayern Munich by the start of next season.
Thomas Tuchel's departure from the Allianz Arena is imminent and Rangnick has confirmed he's been approached by Bayern.
“There was a contact from Bayern Munich, I also informed the OFB [Austrian Football Association] about it," Rangnick told Austrian outlet 90minuten.
“We have a very trusting relationship. My focus is on the Austrian national team. We are fully focused on the European Championship. I feel very comfortable here. At the moment, there is no reason to deal with it intensively and concretely.”
