The senior squad members involved in the midweek friendly win over Leeds United in Oslo were at Carrington but did not appear to participate in the session with their returning teammates.
United manager Erik ten Hag suggested none of the internationals on duty last month would be involved in the friendly with Lyon in Edinburgh on Wednesday.
"Those players, most of them won't show up in Edinburgh as well," Ten Hag clarified. "They need a good training week, they had their days off, relaxation, those players played the most games last season, they needed that rest.
"But we have to bring them back and be careful. You can't go from zero to 100. So one of the things at the end of last season, we didn't always have our best starting XI, so that's what you want to achieve here."
