Energy experts have warned UK customers of the risks that can come about if your home isn't warm enough this winter.
Although energy bills have skyrocketed for many people recently, it's still important that you keep yourself cosy when you're in the house in order to avoid certain health and wellbeing risks.
And according to pros at energy price comparison site Utility Bidder, there's an optimum temperature you should set your radiators to that'll ensure you stay safe - and also save you money on bills, Birmingham Live reports.
James Longley, managing director at Utility Bidder, explained: “Many people will be worrying about the financial cost of switching the heating on, so we wanted to share some expert advice on the correct temperature to set your heating to, not just to keep costs to a minimum, but also to protect your health."
He added: "The World Health Organisation has also recommended heating the home at around 18C to maintain good health and a positive sleep routine."
James said: "Many people would presume that turning the thermostat down low is beneficial, but while it might save you some money in the short term, it is putting your health at risk and you’ll find that you have the heating on for longer as it won’t heat the home as efficiently as it would if the thermostat is set between 16 to 21°C.”
The ideal temperature for your living room is between 19C and 22C, and for the bathroom it's around 22C.
When it comes to the bedroom, you should aim for between 16C and 18C, while hallways and storage rooms should be between 18C and 20C.
Importantly, baby's rooms should be between 15C and 20C.
According to the Energy Saving Trust, heating accounts for over half of the average UK household’s heating bill. And a
