Emmerdale icon Chris Bisson has teased what lies ahead for his character as he talks about his future on the show and a big storyline that's coming to an end in the coming days.
The 48 years old soap alumni, that also previously starred in Coronation Street, currently plays Jai Sharma in the dales and has been a staple of the Yorkshire based soap since 2009. Appearing on Wednesday’s (27 March) edition of This Morning with soap expert Sharon Marshall, the actor discussed his current storyline involving Jai’s biological father Amit, and how he had played a role in his adoptive father Rishi Sharma’s death.
As regular viewers will know, up until recently Jai had always believed Rishi was his father, however it wasn’t until late last year that he discovered the truth, prompting him to become estranged from the man that had raised him, right up until his death on Jai’s wedding day. Rishi was always believed to have died after falling down the stairs, but it has since emerged that Amit, Rishi’s brother, may have had a hand in his death after all.
Yet to make matters worse, as well as being embroiled in Rishi’s untimely death, Amit has also been putting pressure on Eric Pollard in an attempt to swindle him out of £1000s. In a discussion about the ongoing storyline, Sharon herself admitted that Amit was definitely “dodgy” as she grilled Chris on what viewers could expect from the explosive conclusion due in the very near future.
