EastEnders character Sam Mitchell will get “life-changing news” next week as she contemplates leaving Walford. Sam only returned to the soap last year after a six-year hiatus from the show, but now appears to be set to leave once again. New spoilers reveal that Sam will get a phone call with the life-changing update, and it will apparently give her a potential reason to leave Walford.
The news, of course, doesn’t go down with her family though, after her 12 year old son Ricky recently learned that he was going to become a dad after having sex with Lily Slater, also 12. Lily initially didn't reveal that Ricky was the father, but mum Stacey managed to pry the information from her daughter. Now as Ricky needs his mum more than ever, Sam may be leaving him behind.
Sam’s exit might be with Ricky in mind, however, as she’s reportedly given a huge opportunity that could help her son financially support a child. EastEnders fans will later find out that Sam’s former fiance Don has offered her the chance to manage a new high-end hotel in Spain. In light of the difficult position she’s been put in, Sam confides in Phil Mitchell – but he dismisses her.
Meanwhile, after telling Ricky’s father Jack about it as well, he’s left unimpressed as it could leave Ricky without a mum once again after the pair had only just patched up their relationship following her previous exit. It’s when Sam speaks to Honey that her real intentions about taking the job become clear as she hopes to give her future grandchild a good start in life. Honey encourages her to go for it in light of the fact it could benefit Ricky and the baby.
